What do Hackers get by Hacking your Instagram Account?

Instagram accounts may get hacked sometimes by a known person (like, an ex) or may often be a cybercriminal. What do they get from them? Hackers post a link that they’re hoping your friends will click it on. That particular link will likely contain malware [malicious software]. From the software they use, They can steal your personal data they need and can sell it.

According to ITRC, Posts with links to fake bitcoin investments are the latest online scams used by these cyber bad guys. Make Sure to not give a click on every random link. Have proper online security and be safe.

Luckily for you, we’ve got the details on how to protect your Instagram account and what to do if you’re hacked on Instagram.  Basically, try to know who can view your Instagram profile?

What might be the Reason Behind your Hacked Instagram Account?

The primary reason for hacking of your Instagram account may be due to weak password strength. Try to have a strong password. Do not repeat previous old passwords again and again. Another reason may be due to clicking on the random shopping links in which hackers may have access to see your email and password.

Your Instagram account may also have been hacked when you clicked on a message link. Doing so  you could have installed malware on your device or the hacker diverted you to a fake Instagram log-in page, where you entered your credentials. Fake ads are the effective reason and also the source of the problem. So be sure that Instagram ads can’t be trusted and stop giving clicks on random post links.

Sometimes your foe or ex can hack your Instagram account to spy on you or to have your private chats. They can easily hack your account even though you’ve blocked them and you have a private account. No matter what caused the hack, you just need to act fast.

Signs to Know that your Instagram Account has been Hacked

In case a cybercriminal hacks your Instagram, it is obvious.  The first tipoff might be your friends texting you about something out of character, like a bitcoin deal, that was posted on your account. Or you might notice something’s wrong when you open your Instagram app and are asked to enter your password. By chance,  your password doesn’t work which means a hacker probably changed it by locking you out of your account. In the worst-case scenario, your account might simply disappear because a hacker deleted it.

On the other hand, you may not know what’s happening if your ex is the perpetrator. In fact, to keep an eye on you, the hacker won’t do anything which looks suspicious. To know the current activity of your Instagram account, tap the stack of three lines in the upper-right corner of your profile. Then tap “Your activity.” From there, you can review data such as time spent on the app, posts you’ve liked, comments you’ve made and links you’ve visited, to make sure that nothing is out of normal state.
