Apple has recently announced a new version of the 24-inch iMac, which features the all-new M3 chip. This chip is up to 2x faster than the previous iMac, which featured the M1 chip.
The iMac’s M3 chip brings another huge leap in performance to iMac, featuring an 8-core CPU, up to a 10-core GPU, and support for up to 24GB of unified memory. The new iMac M3 chip is based on the A17 Pro used in the iPhone 15 Pro and is the first Apple chip designed for Macs based on the 3 nanometer architecture.
The new iMac looks pretty much the same as before, with a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display and seven vibrant colors. However, the M3 CPU has performance cores up to 30% faster than M1 and 15% faster than M2, and it consumes less power than previous chips, even though it offers more performance.
The new 24-inch Mac with M3 chip enables about 12 streams of 4K video at a time, and also Adobe Photoshop can process photos up to 2x faster. The new M3 iMacs will feature more recycled materials, with the stand being 100% recycled aluminum and the iMac using recycled rare earth magnets, recycled tin soldering, and 100% recycled gold plating in circuit boards.
This is part of Apple’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and using more sustainable materials in its products. The new 24-inch iMac with M3 is available to order on apple.com/store and in the Apple Store. Overall, this new iMac is a significant upgrade from the previous model, with faster performance, more memory, and more sustainable materials.
