iPhone 15 Pro vs iPhone 13 Pro – Upgrades to expect

The iPhone 13 Pro is considered one of the best iPhones you can get right now, but if you acquired one when it was released in 2021, chances are you’re approaching the end of your contract with the device. The new iPhone 15 series is months away, but now is the time to wonder whether you need to upgrade your old iPhone to one of the iPhone 15 series. So here is everything you need to know about the iPhone 15 Pro vs iPhone 13 Pro and all the upgrades you can expect.

While there is still no official release date, rumors claim that both Pro models of the iPhone 15 will see a $100 price hike. As the iPhone 13 Pro (128GB) starts at $999, the iPhone 15 Pro will likely begin from $1099 if the rumors are true.

Apple is also expected to ditch its proprietary Lightning port in favor of the USB-C port, in compliance with new EU rules, with its iPhone 15 series. This will only provide a more common charging standard and will not affect charging capacity.

Those upgrading from the iPhone 13 Pro will gain access to a slew of camera upgrades in the iPhone 15 series. It is rumored that the 48MP camera sensor will be available to even the standard iPhone 15 devices. There is also a revamped front camera with autofocus and Action mode that instantly boosts the video quality.

The processing power is the most significant difference between the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro. The iPhone 15 Pro is two generations ahead of the iPhone 13 Pro, as rumor claims it will pack a 3-nanometer A17 Bionic chipset. But this upgrade is limited to the Pro models as the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will have an A16 chipset from the last generation.

There will also be some significant changes to the design of the devices. According to rumors, the iPhone 15 series will have a titanium alloy frame instead of the stainless steel used on the iPhone 13 Pro. The iPhone 15 Pro could also have an action button, similar to the Apple Watch Ultra. This action button would be customizable and double as a mute button. While the OLED tech or the 6.1-inch form won’t change, the notch at the top of the screen will likely be replaced by a Dynmic Island housing the selfie camera and the Face ID sensors.

Ultimately, iPhone 15 Pro is a clear winner in the iPhone 13 Pro vs iPhone 15 Pro battle. But the appealing upgrades in the iPhone 15 series come with a hefty price tag, and there is nothing wrong with sticking with your iPhone 13 Pro for yet another year.
