iOS 19 Calendar AI Upgrade: Apple's Secret Acquisition Hints at Smart Scheduling (2025)

We will let you know that, as per the European Commission listing, in April 2024, Canadian startup Mayday Labs was acquired by Apple. This was spotted by the MacGeneration, a French blog. However, this acquisition didn’t receive much attention from the tech blog or the publication until now.

Apple needs to legally report to the European Commission about the acquisition as per the terms of the EU's Digital Markets Act.

The founder of Mayday Lab, Jeremy Bell, reported on his company's acquisition through a blog post in April 2024, but it was deleted later, and he also didn’t mention the company name at that time. As per the European Commission, Startup’s intellectual property is now acquired by Apple, and now Apple will provide employment to certain employees.

We will let you know that this startup developed many features for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, which include an AI-powered Calendar, a scheduling assistant, and a task manager. They developed an all-in-one app that uses AI which schedule the tasks and events at ideal times. Also with the help of AI, this app learn the scheduling pattern of the users and optimizes according to that.

Mayday’s AI Features and iOS 19 Prospects

Mayday’s features are likely to have:

  • Auto-Scheduling: Through this feature, users can schedule tasks and events with the help of AI, and AI also optimizes according to the needs and daily pattern of scheduling.
  • Always learning: Mayday analyzes user’s routines and preferences to automatically suggest the best time slots for meetings and tasks.
  • Best for team scheduling: Mayday works perfectly when it is used with the team. While scheduling or creating the new event may help to suggest the ideal time without the need for every member's schedule.
  • AI-scheduled Tasks: Mayday helps to make time for important tasks.
  • Automatic rescheduling: As we know that users priorities can change according to time so Mayday provides users with two options first one is automatic scheduling, and the second one is one-click scheduling.

We will let you know that it does not have any guarantee that Apple will include Mayday technology, but it seems highly likely. This is because the Apple Calendar is the only app that does not have Apple Intelligence features. However, we are expecting some new features this year.
