The audience turns mild. The inclusion of a feature for lossless audio playback via AirPods Max rings out very blandly for the majority of listeners using earbuds from Apple's tvOS 18.4 update. I can't really say I spend a lot of time watching television that way; it isn't an update for me. I wish Apple would turn its attention towards home theater.
Apple seems to be consistently updating the Apple TV 4K platform, which is continuously enhancing the experience for both owners and potential buyers. This makes me very happy. I own the first generation of Apple TV 4K, which has been in my living room as the main streaming device. I have to say that even though it shows its age, it still works great, and I intend to keep using it until it breaks down completely.
To me, audio is a major element of the viewing experience, and that is why I have a 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos surround setup in my living room. Upon popping in a 4K Blu-ray, I know that the player and receiver are going to take whatever audio signal there is and send it through my speakers without a hitch. The Apple TV 4K, however, continues to vex because this one is just not able to output the most basic audio signal, although Apple keeps updating it. Sometimes, I wonder if Apple is messing with me.
