According to the report based on the analysis by Counterpoint research, Apple’s iPhone 13 has been the best-selling smartphone in India for the Q3 quarter. The hype is the effect of manufacturing Made in India iPhones which enables Apple admirers to upgrade their smartphone as well as many got to buy their first Apple iPhone.
In India, Apple attained its highest market share of 5%. According to the study, the company owned 40% of market share for the premium smartphone.
Counterpoint estimates that over 45 million smartphones were shipped in India overall in Q3 2022, an 11% YoY decline from the previous quarter (July-September).
The study finds that the decline may be attributed to two factors
- A high demand during the same quarter last year
- Decreased consumer interest as well as demand in the entry-level and budget classes in Q3 2022
According to the Counterpoint research report, Xiaomi rules the chart list, and the major reason might be the best features available at an affordable price. However, the company’s shipments decreased 19% YoY as a result of weak consumer demand in the entry level market. According to the report, Xiaomi was the top-selling 5G smartphone brand in the sub 20,000 price range in Q3 2022.
OnePlus saw a 35% YoY increase. Vivo and Samsung have maintained their positions at second and third respectively.
The South Korean business also led the handset (feature phone Plus smartphone) industry with an 18% market share. According to the study, the surge may have been brought on by active stock replenishment of online channels before the holiday season together with appealing incentives and promotions. Devices from the Galaxy M and F series helped it gain the upper hand in the $10,000–$20,000 pricing bracket.
