Meizu has officially returned to the global smartphone market now it’s a challenge for Xiaomi’s position. The company is currently under Xingji Meizu, after being acquired by Geely, the car company. Revealed a new impressive range of smartphones, wearables gadgets, and smart home products at a grand launch in Dubai. This strategic return is a significant step in the competitive mobile market as the international smartphone market has mostly been controlled by Xiaomi over the past few years.

Meizu's wide range of devices highlights its plan to directly compete with Xiaomi’s ecosystem model. where multiple product categories are interconnected to provide a seamless user experience.

Rapid international growth strategy

Meizu is not working slowly, as its products are already available in more than 30 countries across Asia-Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Europe. Meizu’s aggressive approach is similar to Xiaomi’s strategy for gaining international recognition.

The roadmap indicates that Meizu will enter important markets during Q1 2025:

  • Southeast Asia region: Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam
  • South Asia Region: Sri Lanka
  • Oceania Region: Australia

Xiaomi already has a strong presence in these markets, which means that Meizu is competing directly for Xiaomi’s customer base.

Focus on Technological Innovation

Showing its commitment to the latest technology, The global version of Meizu’s StarV Air2 smart glasses now supports Arabic translation and also it can do real-time translation in 14 languages. It shows that customers now expect AI features, as seen in Xiaomi’s AI programs.

With help of the Geely’s vehicle technologies, Meizu plans to integrate Flyme Auto into cars for Eastern Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the  Middle East, Offering one unique feature that makes them different from brands like Xiaomi
