CAIT and Meta Partners for “WhatsApp se Vyapar” Partnership

In a groundbreaking collaboration, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) and Meta have joined forces to launch the “WhatsApp Se Vyapar” program, aimed at empowering small businesses across India through digital training. To provide hyper-local digital training in 11 Indian languages to 10 million local traders, this initiative seeks to foster growth opportunities and promote digitisation efforts in all 29 Indian states.

CAIT, an influential trade association network representing 80 million traders in India, spearheads the “WhatsApp Se Vyapar” program by organising workshops on providing digital and skill training for businesses. Through these workshops, traders will gain the knowledge and expertise to digitise their storefronts and create a “digital dukaan” on the WhatsApp Business App.

Participants in the program will receive comprehensive education on leveraging various features of the WhatsApp Business App, such as Catalog, Quick Replies, and Click to WhatsApp Ads. These features enable small businesses to connect with customers more efficiently, expand their reach, and establish a professional digital presence for their enterprises.

Over the years, the WhatsApp Business App has proven to be a vital tool for micro and small businesses, as well as solopreneurs, in India. As part of the collaboration, CAIT and Meta Small Business Academy will provide access to digital skills for 25,000 traders within the trading community. The certification from Meta Small Business Academy will be invaluable for new entrepreneurs and marketers, equipping them with essential digital marketing skills to expand their businesses on Meta apps.

The program’s reach extends to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) across India, as the course and examination are available in seven languages, including English, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu.

National Secretary General of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), Praveen Khandelwal, emphasised the importance of technology as a growth enabler for businesses. He expressed his belief that with the right tools and upskilling opportunities, traders across India can embrace innovative ways of expanding their businesses.

Nick Clegg, President of Global Affairs at Meta, lauded the entrepreneurial spirit in India and acknowledged the country’s ongoing digital revolution. He expressed Meta’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses by leveraging platforms like WhatsApp to harness the immense opportunities available.

Conclusion

The partnership between CAIT and Meta for the “WhatsApp Se Vyapar” program is a significant step towards driving digital empowerment and growth for small businesses in India.

Through comprehensive digital training, 10 million traders will have the chance to embrace the potential of the WhatsApp Business App. It leads to enhanced customer connections, business expansion, and a more robust contribution to India’s thriving digital ecosystem. Follow us for more content.
