Last week Nothing has officially announced that their upcoming Phone (3) will be run with Snapdragon 8S Generation 4. Nothing has already started marketing their upcoming Phone (3) as a “true” or “real” flagship, however, the netizens are expecting top processor, Snapdragon 8 Elite. As POCO has already featured their phone F7 with Snapdragon 8S Generation 4, it is going to be a tough competition for upcoming Nothing Phone 3. Snapdragon 8S CPU Performance
Keeping in mind that Google Pixel 9a is the best rival of POCO F7, the test reveals that there is no little core CPUs in Snapdragon8S Generation4. The Geekbench6 testing reveals that POCO F7 with Snapdragon8S Gen 4 could not beat Galaxy S24+, which is backed by Snapdragon Gen 3.
Snapdragon 8S Generation 4 GPU Record Benchmarks
According to test Solar Bay Stress, 3DMark’s Wild Life, and Wild Life Extreme, Snapdragon 8S Generation 4 is using Adreno GPU, which is quite similar to Snapdragon 8 Elite. It is also designed with sliced architecture. It is found that 8S Generation 4 is using two slice, and 8 Elite is using three slices. The presence of Snapdragon 8S Generation 4 inside POCO F7 has already made the device poor, as Wild Life Test result reveals that POCO F7 has scored only 56.7% stability, which indicates, many high-performing games and applications will be slowing down. Comparing to POCO phone, Samsung Galaxy and Xiaomi phones have recorded better performance in this test.
Is there anything to Worry about Nothing?
It is revealed from CPU and GPU testing that, Snapdragon 8S Gen 4 is still lagging behind the previous year’s Snapdragon processor. As POCO F7 and Nothing Phone (3) share the similar processor feature, the question is popping up, is there anything to worry about Nothing? As Nothing has targeted the gaming community, a worry is remaining about Phone 3’s capacity of being stable and speed performance. In case of low-quality games, POCO F7 and Phone (3), both can provide handy experience. As per the testing, it can be assumed that both of these phones will be giving support to high-quality games for a shorter time. It can also be expected that Nothing Phone (3) is going to be an aggressive competitor to the device using Gen3 chipset and also powered by Elite 8 in case of high-quality demanding games.
