A safety alert for all the realme users! Realme is secretly collecting the user data revealed by a tweet on Twitter. If you are a realme user then you must be aware that realme is collecting the user data. But how do realme phones collect the user data? Let’s reveal everything here.
Unknowingly, the realme smartphones comes with a feature called Enhanced Intelligent Services which steals all the users personal information like SMS, call logs and even location. According to the leaks it’s said that the feature is kept on as default all the time when you buy it. If you need to cross check whether the feature is on or not you can go ahead with the process below.
- Go to the settings app on your realme device.
- Hover over to the additional settings option.
- Now, click on the system services option.
This way you can find whether what’s said here has a point or not. You might have seen most of the time that your smartphone asks for many permissions for offering better services. The main permission every smartphone asks is location access. But we get a choice whether to allow the permission or dismiss it. If dismissed then it’s not a big concern but if accepted then this should be a concern.
As said the feature called Enhanced Intelligent Services is already enabled by default in your device. This can be considered as a forced consent from the users as most of the users don’t even know that such a feature exists. It’s suspected that the data is being leaked to China but still no proof of that.
IT minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar had said that he is going to investigate the matter soon. Realme is still back off in giving response to the accusations. Along with realme even other smartphone users have revealed that the feature is enabled in them too. Even one user had said that one plus also comes with the same feature. One more case was reported by an oppo Reno 2 user.
This is how realme is secretly collecting the user data. If you are a realme user then you must be aware of it. When you get your device, have a check on it at the start and later start using it. Not only realme, even other smartphones are using the same strategy and leaking your personal data. Hence you must be safe from getting your data leaked to outer sources.
