Which Models Will Get The Last Update
Samsung had already decided that some phones would be given four major Android updates. Phones that were launched with Android 12 will now get the last major update with Android 16 i.e. One UI 8.
These include three phones: Galaxy A33, Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A73. These devices will no longer get Android updates with new features. However, these phones will continue to get minor software improvements and security updates like One UI 8.1.
When Will One UI 8 Be Released
Samsung has not yet announced the official date of One UI 8, but it has been made clear that this update can come in the summer i.e. between June to September. First of all, this update will be available in premium phones like Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Then it will come to the Galaxy S25 and S24 series phones, and after that it will be gradually rolled out in the mid-range Galaxy A series.
What It Means For Users
If you are using Galaxy A33, A53 or A73, then One UI 8 will be the last major update of your phone. After this, if you want to get new features and latest system improvements, then you may have to consider getting a new phone. Samsung is now planning to give Android updates to some new phones for six or seven years.
