Apple is set to roll out iOS 18.5 as the upcoming iPhone update. After a long period of beta testing, the new software update is now in the last stages and is going to be released to the public soon.

Expected launch month for iOS 18.5
The company has always followed a traditional pattern for software releases. Previous iOS X.5 versions all launched in May
- iOS 17.5 on 13th May
- iOS 15.5 on 16th May
- iOS 16.5 on 18th May
The most anticipated launch timeline
As we have seen company always follows its traditional pattern of launching the iOS in Mid May, and we can expect the release of the latest iOS version to be on May 12, or the following week on May 19.
There are multiple reasons why Apple is expected to ship iOS 18.5 on one of these days.
1. Both dates align with Apple’s usual timing
2. Monday releases are common
3. The iOS 18.5 beta is almost complete.
To elaborate, the current iOS 18.5 update lacks new functionality, featuring only some improvements in Mail and a few minor UI changes.
Two additional features may emerge closer to the launch, but they might only appear in the beta just before the official release.
Since the changes between each beta have been minimal, Apple is not likely to drag out the testing period much longer.

Releasing the developer and public betas of iOS 18.5 on the same day is another clue that we will soon see the end of the beta phase.
Apple is likely to roll out iOS 18.5 between 5th May 2025 and 12th May 2025, with the official public version expected to launch soon.
As soon as iOS 18.5 is launched, we'll be just a few weeks away from seeing Apple showcase the design of iOS 19 at WWDC.
