Samsung has made One UI 7 installation changes for the first time this year. The company has lifted curtains for testing One UI 7 Beta on the Galaxy A55 5G. As per the Korean Beta notice, a Wi-Fi network is mandatory for the One UI 7 Beta installations.
The Galaxy A55’s One UI 7 Beta notice confirms the necessity of Wi-Fi connectivity. Hence, users won’t be able to download the Beta firmware over a mobile network. Notably, the Wi-Fi environment was not a must for testing the beta on the Galaxy S24.
"It has been reported that starting this year, the beta version can only be downloaded in a Wi-Fi environment," the warning states.
It seems like there is an additional Wi-Fi condition for the One UI 7 Beta of 2025. Unlike flagship devices, which have no such installation conditions, the reason must be the Seamless Update system.

Seamless Updates are there in Galaxy A55 and the flagships, such as Galaxy S24, lack it. While Samsung did not cite a specific reason, it now requires all phones downloading One UI 7 Beta to be on Wi-Fi.
Internet and calling are carrier services for the largest number of people depressed by this rule, and therefore, it will create a hassle for Galaxy A55 users, as not everyone has Wi-Fi. Nonetheless, they could at least download the beta using a hotspot.
