Apple Reportedly Pauses Foldable iPad, Begins Testing Foldable iPhone

If you are waiting for Apple's foldable device, then it is important for you to know this news. Apple has currently stopped the work of making its foldable iPad. Now the company's entire focus is on its first foldable iPhone, whose testing has started.

Why Was the Foldable iPad Stopped?

Apple has been trying to make a foldable device with a large screen for some time. Some people were calling it a foldable iPad and some were calling it an all-display MacBook. According to reports, Apple was planning to provide a large OLED screen in this foldable device, the size of which could be around 18.8 to 20.2 inches.

But it was very difficult to make such a screen without creases. Also, its production cost was very high, which would have made its price very expensive.

Apple feels that customer demand for such an expensive foldable tablet may be very low. For this reason, this project has been stopped for the time being.

Foldable iPhone Testing Begins

Now Apple is completely focusing on its foldable iPhone. The company completed the initial P1 model of this foldable iPhone for testing in June 2025. Its next testing step can also start in early 2026.

If you are an iPhone user, then you can get a 7.8-inch OLED display, Touch ID on the side, and titanium frame in this foldable device. It will be given a liquid metal hinge so that there is almost no crease on the screen.

Launch and Price

The price of the foldable iPhone can be around $2,100 to $2,300 (approximately ₹1.75 lakh to ₹1.90 lakh). Its launch is expected in September 2026.
