YT Music Rolls Out Apple Homepod Support

YouTube Music has officially rolled out support for Apple’s HomePod, allowing users to connect the service and even set it as the default source when playing music. This is great news for YouTube Music fans who use Apple HomePods. Yes, you can now ask Siri to play songs using YouTube Music. 

To make use of the YouTube Music’s roll out on Apple HomePod support, users need to have the latest version of YouTube Music installed on their mobile device. Then, they need to go to Settings > Connected Apps > Connect with HomePod. Once everything is connected, users can say “Hey Siri, play music on YouTube Music” and start listening to their favorite tunes instantly. 

It is important to note that to play YouTube Music on Apple homepod, users need to be a paid YouTube Premium or Music Premium subscriber. If users want to set YouTube Music as their default music provider, they can do so using the Home app on their iPhone or iPad. All you need to do is:

• Go to Home Settings
• Tap on username (in the People section)
• Click on Default Service

The lack of native YouTube Music support on Apple homepod has been a bummer for many users, as they couldn’t use “Hey Siri” to stream their favorite music. However, this is changing now, with YouTube finally rolling out the native YouTube Music support on Apple HomePod.
