WhatsApp Beta Adds Document Scanning with Camera Here’s How It Works

WhatsApp is coming with a new advanced feature, which will be only available for beta users. WhatsApp has welcomed document scanning feature, which is now become available on Android Beta users. WhatsApp Document Scanner Feature

The new feature of WhatsApp has already been unlocked for iOS, now it’s the turn of Android versions. Now WhatsApp users can scan the images, turn it into documents and share them with their contacts without using any third-party applications. For last few months, iOS users have already tested this feature. This become available on Android beta version also. From now onwards, no WhatsApp users need to depend on the third-party applications. It is very difficult or we have to use other applications to turn the images into PDF version for sharing the documents to other contacts. WhatsApp with this advanced feature will make the users’ experience easier. Now, WhatsApp is providing feature of direct scanning the images, turning it into PDF, and sharing the documents to the contacts, all in one application.

WhatsApp Feature Timeline

The scanning document with camera feature of WhatsApp become available on iOS few months ago. The beta version 2.25.18.29 of Android has also come with WhatsApp Document scanner feature. WhatsApp has announced that this feature will be available on androids very soon, so that users can easily scan the images and turning it to PDF documents without switching to other application. Though, the official date has not been confirmed, it is still under-development, we can expect the feature will come very soon. The users with beta versions have already received this advanced feature after updating from the play store.

Scan Document Option in WhatsApp

After updating the WhatsApp application from Play Store, the beta users are getting a new option, “Scan Document.” This new option has been added along with “browse document” and “choose from gallery” options. All these options have been added under the attachment menu option. After clicking to the new option, Scan Document, one will be directed to camera for clicking and scanning the images and then it will direct to automatic conversion of the image to PDF format. The prompt will automatically come to scan, convert and share the images to the contacts.

This option in WhatsApp is also providing advanced feature to the users to place their phone in correct way and take automatic or manual scan of the images. In Manual mode, the users can take the snap of required portions, and in automatic mode, WhatsApp is providing advanced feature of scanning the document edges to improve the users experience.
