Esther Crawford is the head of the new Twitter Blue service. He has stated that the selected accounts related to governments, companies or actors will get a grey “Official” tick mark to differentiate them from other users.

A lot of queries have been asked about the distinguishing between @TwitterBlue subscribers with blue tick marks and accounts that are already verified as official. Crawford said this is why we’re introducing the “Official” label to select accounts when we launch. Previously verified accounts will not get the Official label and the label is not available for purchase.

She also said that only the government accounts, business partners, commercial companies, publishers, famous media outlets and some public figures are going to have this Official label. She commented that the new Twitter Blue does not include ID verification.

Crawford reported that the paid subscription offers a blue tick mark and has the access to select features. Twitter’s Blue subscription service of $8 is not going to affect the existing verified accounts for now. This is only applicable to those who seek Blue Badge as well as new users who want to be verified.

As per the data, the new Blue plan was for the old users, who are already verified, should also pay or lose their Blue Badges after 90 days. The new Twitter Blue service is with many new updates which includes fewer ads, search priority, an ability to post longer videos, and a blue badge.
