Right after taking over Twitter, Elon Musk is bringing many changes and rules to have his own impact in the company. He removed many employees, including the acting CEO Parag Agrawal.
Musk also plans to bring many changes to the app, one such is paid verification for the blue tick. Prior it was decided that Twitter will charge around 20$ for the verification of popular or well-known profiles. But Musk is making it available for everyone, that too at a very affordable price.
So why the big billionaire selling the blue tick verification? Well, this all started with the 20$ verification charge per month from Twitter. There were many social media posts and viral updates regarding Twitter that it may soon charge 20$ for staying verified on Twitter and having a blue tick.
This seemed to be implemented to remove the spam and scam accounts from Twitter and make it a better place. However, this wasn’t accepted by many and made them outburst on Twitter. The famous author Stephen King posted a Tweet about this coming update and showed how pissed he was.
Elon Musk made a counter to all such Tweets and posts with his recent Tweet that says, ‘Twitter’s current lords & peasants system for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark is bullshit. Power to the people! Blue for $8/month.’ He also mentioned some of the benefits of this feature and how it is going to help people like, more visibility, ranking better in Twitter, fewer ads, and many more.
Musk also stated how this can be beneficial for Twitter financially, currently the only revenue is Ads played on Twitter but with the 8$/month blue tick verification Twitter aims to make more money. Keeping all things aside, Musk has many more ideologies and upcoming things for Twitter.
