Design and Performance
Last year, it was confirmed that Ballie operates on Samsung’s Tizen OS but it's not yet announced that Samsung has moved away from Tizen or Samsung integrated Gemini into Tizen OS for the new Ballie. Samsung first introduced Ballie to the world five years back, the initial model looked like a BB8, but Samsung introduced a redesigned version last year.
According to Yongjae Kim, Executive Vice President of Samsung’s Visual Display Business, said “The Collaboration between Samsung and Google Cloud is setting a new standard for home-based AI experiences. With Gemini’s powerful multimodal reasoning and Samsung’s intelligent systems or AI inside Ballie, we're combining our strengths through open collaboration to create smarter, more personalized AI experiences, and it is also capable of helping users understand their needs in advance and engage more naturally than ever.”
How the Integration works between Gemini AI and ballie
As per Samsung, Ballie will operate by using Gemini’s powerful multimodal capabilities, combined with Samsung’s custom language models. With the help of this integration, Ballie can seamlessly process and understand a variety of inputs like voice, sound, visuals, etc through its smart sensors and cameras.
In easy words, it means Ballie can understand what’s happening nearby then adjust its actions, and act accordingly in real-time.
For Example, if you could say something like “How do I look?” then Ballie may respond with tips like change your outfit or choosing a new shade.
Also, users can ask their personal questions. For Example, If you tell Ballie that you are feeling tired, then Ballie could recommend tips to help you recharge, sleep better, or how to regain energy.
Conclusion
The partnership between Samsung and Google has grown stronger than before. Samsung Galaxy S24 was one of the initial smartphones to feature Google’s Gemini AI. Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 lineup this year with Gemini set as the default AI. By teaming up with Samsung on Ballie, Google continues to demonstrate that it's leading the way in AI assistant advancements.
