For real-time call identification in iPhones, the Livecaller application is launched for free as an alternative to popular apps like Truecaller and Hiya. In December 2024, Live caller ID is introduced by Apple with the iOS 18.2 update, which shows the details of the incoming call directly on the phone screen. With the help of this new Live call detail detection app, users can get protection from fraud calls, telemarketers, spam calls, and robocalls, everything for free. As we know that the other caller ID applications ask for the contact permission, but Live caller does not request to get access to the user's contacts, nor also not need to create an account.
LiveCaller Uses Apple's Live Caller ID Lookup Framework
This application was developed by Sync.ME and it allows the users to get the details of the caller in real-time, and also, this service has access to more than four billion phone numbers. The best thing about this app is that it is available in 28 languages. This app works on the Live Caller ID Lookup framework, which means it will only work with iOS 18.2 or the latest Apple operating system.
With Apple's Live Caller ID Lookup framework, this application is able to get the caller details from an unknown call without opening the app, and it will not require any permission from the users. This app will directly inform the user about the incoming calls on their phone screen with a pop-up.
The working of this app is very simple, as the user receives their call on the latest version of iPhone, then it will encrypt it before processing it. Also, as per the company, this process is very secure as it uses an end-to-end encryption technique which protects user’s data, and also it will not collect the caller's data.
We will let you know that all the available caller ID apps in the market provide decent protection from spam calls, fraud calls, and telemarketers. As per the Government data, it is also revealed that due to the fraud and spam calls, Indian users lost around Rs 177 crore in 2024, and this is double compared to last year.
This application is now available for free on the App Store and this is the best alternative to Truecaller and Hiya. However, it is still not clear whether this application will remain free or will have to be paid for in the future.
