Indian Govt Issues Urgent Warning for Google Chrome Users: Update Now to Stay Safe

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has released a high-severity security advisory for all those who use Google Chrome on their desktop. As per vulnerability note CIVN-2025-0130 by CERT-in, multiple security flaws have been identified in specific versions of Chrome. These vulnerabilities might potentially help the remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or carry out denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, which will affect your system and data.

Who is affected?

The vulnerabilities affect Google Chrome versions earlier than 137.0.7151.119/.120 for Windows or Mac and 137.0.7151.119 for Linux. Users who are using this versions are advised to update their browsers immediately to stay protected from potential security threats.

As per CERT-In, if you haven’t updated outdated Chrome version, then you will face problems like:

  • Denial of Service (DoS): if hacker Dos attack when it will freeze your browser and it will crash, which leads to make your system unstable.

The flaws include an integer overflow in the V8 engine and a memory handling bug in the Profiler component, These bugs can be used by hackers when users visit unsafe or fake websites.
