Google has made their final and official statement on stopping chrome browser in devices with Android 8.0 oreo and Android 9.0 pie versions. It was already rumoured that, version 139 of Google Chrome is coming soon. Now, it is officially revealed that Chrome 139 will make global debut on 5th August 2025. It is already rumoured that the latest version of Google Chrome is going to impact many popular devices by Xiaomi, Redmi and Mi Series, especially which were released between 2016 to 2018. It is believed that this sudden shift to new version of Chrome is going to affect many smartphone device users across the world. For Android 8.0 and Android 9.0, Google has announced that Chrome 138 was the last compatible version. After releasing Chrome 139 on 5th August, it will stop functioning completely. Xiaomi has also announced it in their official handle mentioning the last working date, 5th August. The above-mentioned devices will no longer get the latest update Chrome 139 after 5th August. The users will not get any latest updates and upgrades by Chrome, as Chrome 138 will run on those devices.

Xiaomi has posted in their official X handle; the affected device users can use FireFox browser instead of Google Chrome for latest updates and features. In addition, there are so many alternative browsers, Opera, Microsoft Edge and Samsung Xplore Internet, which will enable the users to get advance security updates and features. Firefox generally works on the devices with Android 5.0 and later android version. For Xiaomi device users, it is also advised to scroll on MemeOS Enhancer application from the play store and unlock the hidden features and upgrades by Xiaomi.
