In a recent Indian Mobile Congress 2022 meet, the Airtel CEO Sunil Mittal confirmed that Airtel will be rolling out the 5G services on Pan India level by 2024. He also claimed that users with 4G SIM need not upgrade or buy a new 5G SIM, as the current 4G SIM will support 5G.
Airtel has bid for the spectrum and acquired a 19867.8 MHZ spectrum with different frequencies to begin their 5G service in India. This was only possible with the trails they conducted in India in cooperation with Nokia and Samsung. With this 5G launch, Airtel also claimed that it is aiming to be the best and fastest 5G network ever.
